Amanda Welton‑Hagen is an Associate Lawyer at Race and Company LLP. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters, including incorporations, corporate reorganizations, shareholder agreements, business purchases and sales, and ongoing advisory work for owner‑managed businesses. She also assists clients with wills and incapacity planning as part of their overall personal and business planning.
Amanda began her legal career in 2011 after completing her Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate and working at a boutique Vancouver firm specializing in insurance subrogation. She moved to Whistler in 2012 and joined Mountain Law Corporation in 2013, where she progressed from legal assistant to paralegal while completing her Paralegal Certificate and undergraduate degree.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Professional Arts (Governance, Law, and Management) from Athabasca University and a Dual Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy. During law school, she continued to work remotely as a paralegal for Mountain Law Corporation and gained experience through volunteer work and externships in both Canada and the United States. She returned to Whistler in 2022 to article with Peter Shrimpton.
For the past two and a half years, Amanda has owned and operated Mountain Law Corporation, where she focused on corporate and commercial matters as well as wills and incapacity planning for clients throughout the Sea‑to‑Sky corridor. She now brings this experience to Race and Company LLP as an associate.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys coaching soccer, playing beach volleyball, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
