Kathleen Van Der Ree
was born and raised in Vancouver British Columbia. She earned a
degree in Philosophy at Simon Fraser University. She then joined
the faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba in 2002 and
finished her degree at the University of British Columbia, with a
concentration in Natural Resource Law. She was called to the Bar
in 2007 after articling for Race and Company LLP. Her current
areas of practice include Real Estate, Corporate and Commercial,
and Wills and Estates.
Despite her focused academic
endeavours, Kathleen spent some time traveling; first for a brief
backpacking trip in Europe and then for an extended stay in
Australia. During her travels she developed a liking for adventure
and an interest in meeting people from all walks of life.
Kathleen has been living in Whistler since 2006 and is an active
member of the community. She is on the board of directors for both
the Whistler Community Services Society and of the Association of
Whistler Area Residents for the Environment (AWARE). Kathleen
spends her personal time, snowboarding, ocean kayaking, mountain
biking and hiking.
