Gregory Hoff was born in North Vancouver and moved to Squamish in 1982. He attended school there and eventually
graduated from Howe Sound Secondary in 1993.
Following high school Greg represented the Squamish Rotary Club for one year as an international exchange student in
South Africa. Upon returning to Canada, Greg enrolled in the Capilano College. He eventually transferred to the University
of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), in Prince George, where he received a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology, in 2002.
While attending UNBC, Greg worked and preformed research for wide range of employers, including: the B.C. Ministry
of Health; the B.C. Ministry of Human Resources; and the Canadian Mental Health Association.
After graduation Greg moved to Vancouver and worked for himself, developing and facilitating workshops for First Nations
Communities, and working with youths on a one-to-one basis.
In 2003, Greg and his wife, Mistelle, moved to Calgary, where he attended his first two years of law school. He completed
his final year of law school at the University of Victoria, and was awarded a Bachelor of Laws in May 2006, just four
days before the birth of his son, Liam.
Greg returned to Squamish, to article with Race & Company. On May 23, 2007 Greg completed his article and was called
to the bar of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Greg now practices law at Race & Company LLP, in the area of civil
litigation.
Greg is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking and fishing.
